Took this pic on my iPhone during the Chancellor's Installation Committee Reception at the Chancellor's Residence I was fortunate enough to attend. Good company, good food, and good beer from Big Boss Brewery (http://trioutnc.com/Big-Boss-Brewery-Raleigh-1454) in Raleigh. On my way out, I noticed this huge crystal ball-looking banister post that I thought looked pretty cool.

Took an early lunch today at headed to Chubby's Tacos in Raleigh, NC. Couldn't resist taking a photo of this well-dressed, festive display of taxidermy. The carnitas tacos were great too.

Photo a day for a year. Day 1
Take at least one photo a day for 365 days. That's the goal. I'm following the inspiration of a friend who did the same.
I'm hopeful that taking the time to compose a picture every day will engender new perspectives on places, situations, people and ideas that I might have otherwise missed.
Since I won't be carrying my Canon 20d everywhere I go, I'll be using a combination of the Canon, my iPhone 4 and a little Canon Powershot that's usually handy in a pinch.
Anyhow, here's day one. Starting on Halloween with a family photo. Several years ago, my wife and I moved in to our first house on Halloween. It was just the two of us then. Halloween wasn't the same then as it is now with kids. There's not much that compares with seeing the unbridled joy of a four-year-old.
